(updated 4/23/24, correction to LakePro Quote)
Treatment Quote
As mentioned in the previous update, we’ve been actively seeking a water management company to address the algae issues in our pond. We’ve identified LakePro Inc, based in Swartz Creek, Michigan, as a promising option. LakePro currently services North Boulder Pond, and the feedback we’ve received has been positive.
We’ve reached out to LakePro for a quote to manage and treat Twin Islands Pond, and we’re pleased to share the details with you. The annual cost for their services would be $6,036.91 $5,644.08, which we believe offers good value and warrants serious consideration.
Despite our belief that the maintenance of common area ponds within the Stonebridge Association should be the responsibility of Stonebridge, a controversy regarding the definition of exclusive versus common areas has arisen, creating a roadblock. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that these issues will be resolved in time for treatments this season. Therefore, to preserve the health and attractiveness of our pond, we’ll need to take matters into our own hands. We are currently working out the details of how this will be managed, so please stay tuned for updates.

Shoreline Cleanup
You may have noticed some of our Twin Islands Pond neighbors out cleaning up the brush, trees, sticks and debris on, and in, the shoreline edge. This has already made a noticeable improvement in the appearance of the pond, and, in addition, removes places where the algea sticks and grows. In addition, neighbors have been working successfully to clean up other areas around the pond. We really appreciate the efforts of everyone, it is looking great, thank you!
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in the Friends of Stonebridge Ponds community.
